Will Kava was named the University of Missouri's Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Governance in winter 2022.
Kava, who joined Mizzou from Ole Miss, oversees the department's compliance and governance efforts, including interpretations on NCAA, SEC and institutional rules, guidance on enforcement issues, investigations and providing rules education for internal and external groups.
He serves on the senior leadership and leadership teams and is the sport administrator for the football and wrestling programs. Kava is a member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance and serves on that organization’s professional development committee.
Before coming to Columbia, Kava spent seven years at Ole Miss, most recently as the Rebels' Senior Associate AD for Compliance. He also worked at his alma mater, the University of Washington, and spent time at San Diego State and Cal State San Marcos.
The native of Kaneohe, Hawai'i was an offensive lineman at Washington and earned a bachelor's degree in sociology. Kava also has a juris doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
