Johnathan Thibodeau serves as Assistant Director of Compliance for the University of Missouri Athletics Department. In his role, Thibodeau oversees student-athlete eligibility for all Mizzou sports and serves as the primary contact for the NCAA Transfer Portal. He works closely with coaches, staff and campus partners to ensure adherence to NCAA, SEC and institutional regulations.
Thibodeau brings a diverse background in athletics compliance, football operations and legal studies to Mizzou. Prior to joining the Tigers, he held several roles across collegiate athletics, including Football Operations and Recruiting Assistant at Northern Illinois University from 2021 to 2024, Compliance and Legal Intern with Exclusive Sports Group in 2023, Athletics Compliance Intern at Indiana State University in 2022 and Football Recruiting Assistant at Wabash College from 2020 to 2021. He earned his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University in 2024, along with a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Sport Management, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Wabash College, completed in 2021.
A native of Reelsville, Indiana, Thibodeau was a four-year member of the Wabash College football program from 2017 to 2021, competing as a cornerback. Thibodeau's professional honors include earning first place at the 2024 Villanova Law School Professional Football Contract Negotiation Competition.
