McHone joins the Tigers after spending the previous two seasons at USF, serving as the program’s Director of Player Development in 2023-24 and its assistant coach in 2024-25. During his two years on campus, the Bulls captured their first regular-season title in school history when they won the American Athletic Conference with a 16-2 mark in 2024 – a nine-game improvement from the previous season before his arrival. USF also won a school-record 25 games and advanced to the second round of the NIT.
Prior to his time at USF, McHone spent four seasons at Kennesaw State as the team’s Director of Basketball Operations, serving on a staff that orchestrated one of the biggest turnarounds in the sport. He joined a program that had never posted a winning record in its Division I history and left with a school-record 26-9 mark in 2022-23. The Owls also won the regular-season and postseason Atlantic Sun titles, while earning its first bid to the NCAA Tournament.
McHone also spent four years with the Aggies as a graduate assistant and student manager from 2015 to 2019. Overall, he has been a part of programs that have won three regular-season conference titles with three NCAA Tournament invitations, including twice advancing to the Sweet 16.
A 2017 graduate of Texas A&M, McHone earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management.
McHone and his wife, Lexie, have one daughter, Kennedy.
