Biography

2013-2014: In his second season with the Tigers, Berg picked up seven wins and placed in two tournaments. Competing at the Joe Parisi Open in the freshman/sophomore division at 197 pounds, Berg picked up a fourth place finish, highlighting the day with a win by fall (2:59) against Kevin Roper of Lincoln College. Berg also placed fourth at the Roger Denker Open splitting his matches on the day with a 2-2 record.

2012-13: Tyler Berg saw his first action with the Tigers competing in two tournaments at 197 pounds during his redshirt season. Berg won the first match of his collegiate career, defeating Seth Calvert of Ouachita Baptist University 8-3. Berg won three matches in the Roger Denker Open. Tyler earned his first career fall in the Grand View Open where he pinned Seth Esaias of Iowa State in 8:44.

High School: Berg capped off an outstanding high school career with back-to-back state championships, winning the title at 215 pounds as a junior and again at 220 pounds as a senior. He posted a career record of 184-20, including a 102-2 mark in his last two years and a 54-0 record during his senior campaign. Berg took fifth at state in his first year at 171 pounds, and placed third at the same weight as a sophomore. During his unblemished senior campaign, Berg was named District Wrestler of the Year. Along with four letters in wrestling, Berg also lettered four times in football and twice in track.
