REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2017-18)
- After missing two and a half seasons due to various injuries, returned to the mat in a big way in 2017-18, earning All-America status and winning his first conference title while shooting his way up the individual rankings to as high as No. 3 in the nation for parts of the season.
- Was given the Most Improved Wrestler honor at end-of-the-year banquet.
- Went 25-6 in first season as an attached wrestler, including a perfect 16-0 mark in dual competition.
- Earned a podium finish and All-American honors at the NCAA Championships (March 15-17), finishing sixth following a 4-3 performance which included three wins over ranked wrestlers.
- Defeated No. 9-ranked Max Thomsen (Northern Iowa), 3-2, No. 10-ranked and former NCAA Champion Jason Tsitrsis (Arizona State) and No. 14-ranked Beau Donhue (NC State), 3-1 (SV-1), en route to sixth-place finish at NCAA Championships (March 15-17).
- Won his first conference title at 149 pounds at the MAC Championships (March 3-4), winning two matches by major decision, including a 9-0 win over Ohio’s Kade Kowalski in the finals, en route to the title.
- Executed a takedown with seconds remaining on the clock to defeat Northern Iowa’s No. 8-ranked Max Thomsen, 4-3 (Feb. 17).
- Picked up sixth ranked win of the season in 8-4 win over Oklahoma State’s No. 15-ranked Boo Lewallen (Jan. 27).
- Matched highest ranked win of the season in 3-1 win over Central Michigan’s No. 3-ranked Justin Oliver (Jan. 19).
- Upset North Carolina’s No. 3-ranked Troy Heilman , 6-3, at the South Beach Duals (Dec. 29) to shoot up the individual rankings to as high as No. 4 (FloWrestling).
- Played a vital role in Mizzou’s Virginia road trip, beginning with the best win of his career to-date, defeating No. 5-ranked Solomon Chishko, 8-2, then No. 21-ranked Sam Kribus, 3-1, to begin Mizzou’s comeback win over Virginia.
- Defeated No. 17-ranked Eric Barone (Illinois) to start the season, his first official action in more than two years.
2016-17
- Did not compete during the 2016-17 season, received additional year of eligibility from the NCAA for missing entire season due to injury.
2015-16
- Did not compete during the 2015-16 season, received additional year of eligibility from the NCAA for missing entire season due to injury.
