Outlook: After dedicating himself to four sports in high school, newcomer Ryan Farris has set his focus on wrestling and looks to make a name for himself in the Missouri program. Farris will likely wrestle at 157 pounds this season.

"Ryan comes to Missouri as a very well-rounded and athletic student-athlete," Missouri Head Coach Brian Smith said. "He had a great sports career at Center High School and we're excited to have him on board with our wrestling team."

High School: A four sport athlete at Center High School in Kansas City, Mo., Farris finished second at the Missouri State Championships his senior season (2008-09) while wrestling at 152 pounds. Farris' second place showing helped his team to a top-10 finish at the annual state tournament. Closing out his high school career with a 46-2 record, Farris managed 121 wins in four years with the Yellow Jackets. Coached by Alan Isom, Farris finished sixth at the state championships his junior season (2007-08). Farris earned 12 letters while competing for the Yellow Jackets cross country, track, soccer and wrestling tams and was a member of the Center Honor Roll.

Personal: Born Feb. 24, 1991, in Kansas City, Mo., Ryan Farris is the son of Mike and Trish Farris and younger brother to Christine (21). Farris is majoring in nutrition and plans to be a personal trainer and firefighter after graduation.
