"Jason really missed wrestling last year," Missouri Head Coach Brian Smith said. "We encouraged him to come out and walk on and he's been at our spring and summer workouts. He's really made a lot of great strides over the past few months."

Individually, Tutt managed his best finish at the Championships his freshman year, third, while wrestling in the 125-pound weight class. As a sophomore 130-pound competitor, Tutt took sixth, finishing his senior season (2007-08) in fifth at 135 pounds. Coached by Sam Richardson, Tutt recorded 40 or more wins in each of his final three seasons at Clark and earned a letter in each of his four years in high school.
