2010-11: Wrestling at 141 pounds, Cyr competed in three opens during the season and won three matches. He kicked off his year with a 10-2 major decision over Cody Pierce of Missouri Valley. At the UCM Open in November, Cyr went 2-2, picking up decisions of 7-5 over Mikey Ashpole of LCC and 4-0 over Nick Capozzoli of SIU-Edwardsville.
High School: Cyr, wrestling for Waynesville High School, qualified for state in each of his last three years, finishing his career with a fifth place individual finish while his team took eighth. He took fourth in the 2008 state Greco tournament, and was an All-Conference selection in high school. Cyr also competed in cross country.
Personal: Jake was born on Sept. 21, 1992, to Brian and Insuk Cyr in Wurzburg, Germany. His father is a captain in the Army, while his mother is a teacher. He has two siblings, Joshua, 19, and Sam, 16. Joshua is a member of the Missouri wrestling team. Jake is majoring in nursing.
