REDSHIRT SENIOR (2017-18)

  • Produced a record of 31-3 in his final campaign as a collegiate wrestler, winning his second conference title and becoming the 27th member of Mizzou’s exclusive 100-win club.
  • Concluded his career with a mark of 114-29 with 26 major decisions, 10 technical falls and 19 falls.
  • Among program records, ranks sixth in career major decisions (26), eighth in career technical falls (10), 10th in winning percentage (.797, 114-29) and 13th in wins (114).
  • Recorded career-highs in wins (31), dual wins (17) and technical falls (six), while matching career highs in major decisions (eight) and falls (seven).
  • Among team leaders, ranked first in major decisions (eight), first in dual major decisions (five), second in dual wins (17), second in technical falls (six), second in dual technical falls (three), third in wins (31), third in dual points (77), third in dual falls (five) and fourth in falls (seven).
  • Went 3-2 at NCAA Championships (March 15-16), his fourth appearance, falling in the blood round after winning matches by fall over Lehigh’s Alex Klucker at 1:14 and by major decision over Army’s Luke Weiland, 15-4, to advance to the round of 12.
  • Won his second consecutive conference title at the MAC Championships (March 3-4), defeating Kent State’s Casey Sparkman, 8-2, in the finals.
  • Impressed at the South Beach Duals (Dec. 29-30), going 4-0 in duals, including technical fall victories over No. 6-ranked B.J. Clagon (Rider), 19-3, and No. 19-ranked Kennedy Monday (North Carolina), 17-2, where he became the 27th member of Mizzou’s 100-win club.
  • Returned home to finish second at the Reno Tournament of Champions (Dec. 17), going 4-1 at the tournament with a technical fall win over Southern Oregon’s Scottie Stockman, 16-1, and a major decision win over Stanford’s Dom Mandarion, 14-2.
  • Defeated No. 10-ranked Larry Early (Old Dominion), 6-2, in dual competition (Dec. 2).
  • Won the Lindenwood Open at 157 pounds with a 4-0 performance, winning two matches by technical fall and one by major decision.
  • Opened the season by defeating No. 16-ranked Kyle Langenderfer (Illinois) to help Mizzou knock off the Illini (Nov. 4).

REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2016-17)

  • Roared back onto the scene after a redshirt season, winning the MAC Championship (March 5) at 157 pounds and earning his first All-America honor by finishing runner-up at the NCAA Championships at 157 pounds (March 18).
  • Posted a remarkable record of 29-2 for a winning percentage of .935, the 10th-best single season winning percentage in program history.
  • Among team leaders, ranked first among wins (29), first in dual major decisions (6), second among total major decisions (8), second in dual wins (12) and fifth in dual points (42).
  • Made program history with teammates J’den Cox and Lavion Mayes, as all three wrestlers made the NCAA Finals, marking the first time in program history more than one wrestler advanced to the NCAA Finals.
  • After enter the NCAA Championships as the No. 3-seed, fell in the NCAA Finals (March 18) to top-seeded Jason Nolf (Penn State) by major decision, 14-6.
  • Opened the NCAA Championships with back-to-back pins, including a fall over Sal Mastriani (Virginia Tech) in overtime of the second round where he executed a defensive attack that put Mastriani on his back and Lavallee on Sportscenter’s Top-10.
  • Captured his first conference championship at the MAC Championships (March 5) with a 4-3 win in TB-2 over No. 7-ranked Colin Heffernan (Central Michigan).
  • Posted wins over Paden Moore (Northern Iowa), 12-6, and Casey Sparkman (Kent State), 14-1 major decision, to advance to MAC Championship bout.
  • Went undefeated in dual competition with a record of 12-0 and 7-0 in MAC duals, posting 42 points and four wins over ranked opponents in dual competition.
  • Defeated No. 5-ranked Joe Smith (Oklahoma State) by a score of 6-1 (Jan. 27).
  • Upended No. 7-ranked Colin Heffernan (Central Michigan) in SV-1, 3-1 (Jan. 22).
  • Finished third at the South Scuffle with a mark of 5-1, earning victories over No. 7-ranked Jake Short (Minnesota), 2-1, and No. 11-ranked Andrew Atkinson (Virginia), 9-5, to earn the third-place finish.
  • Won three straight bouts in dual competition by way of major decision, defeating Cullen Cummings (Ohio), 19-9 (Dec. 11), Casey Sparkman (Kent State), 19-8 (Dec. 20) and Gavin Londoff (Appalachian State), 12-1 (Dec. 20)
  • Defeated No. 19-ranked Jake Ryan (Ohio State), 12-5 (Dec. 8).
  • Won the UNI Open (Dec. 3) at 157 pounds by posting a record of 5-0 and earning three wins by bonus points, including a fall over Austin Hiles (Michigan State) in the opening round and a technical fall over Mario Levelle (Purdue), 19-3, at 5:51.
  • Began the season with back-to-back major decisions in dual competition, defeating Shane Jones (Old Dominion), 12-4 (Nov. 13) and No. 17-ranked Sal Mastriani (Virginia Tech), 15-5 (Nov. 20).

JUNIOR (2015-16)

  • In redshirt season, went 10-3 while posting two top-six finishes in open tournaments.
  • Took sixth place at Reno Tournament of Champions (Dec. 20), going 4-1 in the tournament.
  • Placed second at the Michigan State Open (Nov. 15) after posting 3-1 record at the tournament

SOPHOMORE (2014-15)

  • Received an automatic bid to 2015 NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo., following a second place finish at 2015 MAC Championships.
  • Posted an overall record of 24-13, including a 13-7 dual record (6-1 MAC competitions).
  • In his first two seasons at Mizzou, Lavallee has put together an impressive 11-2 record in Mid-American Conference duals.
  • His 13 dual season victories was a new career high, topping his previous record of five from a season ago.
  • Solid contributor for Tiger lineup all season long, producing 40 dual points within his 14 dual victories.
  • Racked up five wins over nationally ranked opponents this season, highlighted by defeating the No. 13 ranked foe twice (Justin DeAngelis - Oklahoma & Cody Pack - South Dakota State).
  • Had an outstanding first two months of the 2014-15 season, putting together a 9-1 record and 2nd place finish at 2014 Harold Nichols Cyclone Open.

FRESHMAN (2013-14)

  • Earned "Most Pins" Honor among Mizzou wrestlers.
  • Competed as an unattached wrestler for five tournaments before Coach Smith decided to take the redshirt off of him for the remainder of the season.
  • Took fourth at the Warren Williams/Daktronics Open after winning the first three collegiate matches of his career.
  • Was crowned the champion at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open at 157 pounds.
  • Finished in second place at the Joe Parisi Open, losing in the finals to Alex Dieringer (Oklahoma St.) by only a three-pound decision.
  • Took another title at the Kaufman-Brand Open, defeating Missouri's own Matt Lemanowicz in the finals, 3-2.
  • Ended in second place at the UNI after defaulting to teammate Kyle Bradley in the finals.
  • Became the third true freshman to enter the Tiger lineup in dual competition, going against No. 20 Luke Smith of Central Michigan.
  • Won his first collegiate dual match by a 4-1 decision over Jarrett Jensen (UNI) the following weekend.
  • Landed his first ranked win after defeating No. 19 Alex Richardson of Old Dominion, 7-2.
  • Competed at 157 pounds at the 2014 MAC Championships for the Tigers, finishing in third place after three more wins, including a decision win over No. 19 Brandon Zeerip (Eastern Michigan), earning an automatic qualification to the 2014 NCAA National Championship.
  • Fell one match short of the All-American round at Nationals, winning three of his five matches including a technical fall (22-7) over Johnny Greisheimer of Edinboro and a 14-4 major decision over Paul Hancock of Army.
  • Had 30 wins in his first season with the Tigers with six major decisions, seven pins, and three technical falls.

RENO HIGH SCHOOL (RENO, NEV.)

  • Put up a record of 206-12 in his four seasons of high school.
  • Had an even farther successful career as he took the state title all four years.
  • Took third place at Fargo in 2010.
  • In 2011, made noise nationally he won the FILA Cadet National Freestyle title at 63 kilos. He then went on to compete for Team USA for the Cadet World title, where he took fifth.

  • Joey Lavallee was born to Joe and Renee Lavallee on March 16, 1994, in Gilroy, Calif.
  • Has an older sister, Megin, and a younger brother, Justin.
  • Was tabbed as the No. 57 wrestling recruit in the nation going into the 2013-2014 season.
