"Jamie comes to Missouri after having a successful career at North Central," Missouri Head Coach Brian Smith said. "He's been performing at a high level in the practice room and is pushing himself each day to become a stronger wrestler."
NORTH CENTRAL (2007-2009): Coached by Kevin Bratland, the Division III wrestling squad of North Central finished eighth in the nation in 2008 and 12th in 2009. Individually, DeVine, competing at 141 pounds, brought home a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) title in 2009. His first place conference finish was an improvement on his second place showing recorded in 2008. In two years with the Cardinals, DeVine notched 50 wins and pinned 15 of his opponents.
HIGH SCHOOL: DeVine attended Quincy High School and was a member of the Blue Devils wrestling team coached by Phil Neally. Throughout his four years in high school, DeVine was a three-time conference and regional champion, and a sectional champion his junior (2005-06) season. A 2007 graduate DeVine was named the Most Valuable Player of his wrestling team and earned four letters in wrestling. DeVine was a member of the National Honor Society and named to the honor roll.
PERSONAL: The son of Michael and Lori DeVine, Jamie was born June 23, 1989 in Quincy, Ill. DeVine has one brother, Nicholas (18) and is majoring in health and science.
