"Glen-Allen came to our room weighing in well over 300 pounds," Missouri Head Coach Brian Smith said. "He's worked hard to cut weight and develop strength. He's proven to us that he's not afraid to wrestle some of the best heavyweights in the nation and battles with our National Champion Mark Ellis, and Junior World Champion, Dominique Bradley, day-in and day-out."
High School: A heavyweight wrestler all four years at Wauwatosa East High School in Wauwatosa, Wis., Kendl finished second at the state championships his senior (2008-09) campaign. As a junior, the Raider wrestler managed 42 wins on the season, 26 coming by fall. By the close of his high school career, Kendl had won 84 bouts by pin. Kendl competed at the 2006 Junior Nationals tournament and finished second in the Greco style meet. A scholar athlete, Kendl received the Coaches Award and was named Most Improved Wrestler and Most Valuable Player in addition to earning four letters in both football and wrestling.
Personal: Glen-Allen Kendl was born Nov. 1, 1990, in Wauwatosa, Wis., to parents Anthony and Kathleen Kendl. Kendl's sister, Ashley (25), was a volleyball player at Saint Louis University. A physical therapy major, Kendl intends to open his own clinic after graduation.
