2014 SEC First-Year Honor Roll

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2013-14)

Took his redshirt year and competed in five tournaments at 184 pounds.
His first collegiate win came against Travis Peralta of SMSU, 7-4.
Took sixth overall at the Warren Williams/Daktronics Open after having to forfeit his last two matches due to injury.
Competed in the freshman/sophomore division at the Joe Parisi Open and lost 3-2 in the finals to finish in second place.
Took third place at the Kaufman-Brand, UNI, and Grandview Opens.
Finished with a season record of 17-7, including one pin and two major decision wins.

TROY CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL (TROY, OHIO)

Won two state titles - his junior and senior years at 182 pounds.
The Eagles won the team-state title during BJ's senior year.
Took second place at state his freshman year at 171 pounds.
Lettered in wrestling all four years of high school.
In 2012, was a runner-up at both the Ironman and Super 32 national wrestling tournaments.

PERSONAL

Bruce Toal was bon to Bruce and Catherine Toal on September 21, 1993 in Sidney, Ohio.
His father was a swimmer at Michigan while his brother, Jonathan, played football at Wheaton.
Older brother, Zach, is a recent graduate of the Tiger wrestling program, qualifying for the NCAA Championships all four years of his career.
