REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2013-14)

? Competed in four tournaments, placing in two of them and picking up eleven wins overall on the season.
? Finished in fifth place at the Warren Williams/Daktronics Open after picking up his first four wins of the season.
? Had three wins at the Kaufman-Brand Open, giving him a third-place finish.
? Of his 11 wins, three came by way of technical fall, including both of his wins at the Joe Parisi Open.
FRESHMAN (2012-13)

? Taking his redshirt year, Roper competed in five tournaments at 133 pounds through the season.
? Picked up his first collegiate win over Kevin Steeby (Benedictine) by way of fall at 4:29.
? Placed fifth at both the UCM and Kaufman-Brand Opens, additionally taking sixth at the Grand View Open.
? Went 15-11 overall on the season, with five pins, three major decision wins, and two technical falls.
KIRKSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL (KIRKSVILLE, MO)

? Took first place state titles his sophomore, junior and senior years at 119, 125 and 132 pounds, respectively.
? Took second place at state his freshman year at 103 pounds.
? Helped his team win the state title during his freshman and senior campaigns.
? Earned four All-America honors at the Fargo Cadet and Jr, Nationals.
? In 2008, placed sixth in Freestyle and fourth in Greco. In 2009, took fifth in Greco. In 2012, placed eighth in Freestyle.

PERSONAL

? Austin Roper was born to Wes and Becky Roper on March 23, 1994, in Columbia, Mo.
? Has one older brother, Derek McCarty.
? His father wrestled at Mizzou from 1978-1982, was an All-American in 1982, and has the second-most wins in program history (131). He also coached the Tigers from 1986-1998 and was the sixth wrestle inducted to the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame.
