2018-19 (SOPHOMORE, Mizzou):

  • Was sidelined during the 2018-19 campaign after suffering a season-ending knee injury during a preseason closed scrimmage.

2017-18 (FRESHMAN, Mizzou):

  • After sharing 2017-18 SEC Sixth Man of the Year Award, elected to test NBA Draft waters, but withdrew his name prior to deadline and returned to Mizzou for his sophomore season.
  • Appeared in all 33 games as rookie and made seven starts, averaging 9.9 points and leading the Tigers in both rebounding (6.8 rpg) and blocks (55). Was one of five Tigers to appear in every 2017-18 contest.
  • Ranked sixth in the SEC in rebounding (led all league freshmen) with 6.8 boards per game, was ninth in blocks (1.7 bspg) and third in defensive rebounds (5.3 drpg).
  • In SEC games only, was fifth in rebounding (6.8 rpg) and third in defensive boards (5.2 drpg).
  • Registered 17 double-figure scoring games with three double-doubles; Tigers were 15-2 on season when he scored in double-digits.
  • Averaged 11.7 points and 7.1 rebounds in Mizzou’s 20 wins against 7.1 points and 6.4 rebounds in its losses.
  • Tallied 326 points on season, eighth-most by a Tiger freshman, and his 75.0 percent effort from the free-throw line ranked 10th on MU’s freshman list.
  • Averaged 21.0 points over Mizzou’s final three regular-season games, including a career-high 24-point outburst at Vanderbilt (Feb. 27), to help secure program’s first NCAA Tournament bid since 2012-13.
  • Closed season by scoring in double-figures in nine of last 12 games.
  • Registered second 20-point game of rookie season with 20 points and eight rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench vs. Georgia (March 8) in the SEC Tournament.
  • Earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors after scoring a career-high 24 points at Vanderbilt (Feb. 27) and 19 points vs. Arkansas (March 3).
  • His career night at Vanderbilt (Feb. 27) was aided by a nine-for-10 performance from the field; also snagged seven rebounds and dished out six assists—the first Tiger to register a 20-5-5 game since the 1998-99 season.
  • Pulled down five-or-more rebounds in 28-of-33 outings with four double-figure efforts.
  • His 224 rebounds on season were fifth-most by a Tiger freshman, while his 6.8 rebounds per game ranked sixth on Mizzou freshman single-season list
  • Recorded third double-double of the season with 18 points and a career-high 13 rebounds in win at Ole Miss (Feb. 6), which was also third of five-straight double-digit scoring efforts.
  • Also registered double-doubles against Georgia (Jan. 10) and Emporia State (Nov. 20).
  • Tallied 13 points with eight rebounds and three blocks in win over then-No. 21 Kentucky (Feb. 3).
  • His 55 blocks were third-most by a Mizzou freshman, and ranked seventh on single-season Tiger list overall.
  • Registered 15 multiple block games with a high of five on three occasions—(No. 23 West Virginia, Nov. 26; Green Bay, Dec. 9 and at Ole Miss, Feb. 6); five blocks were most by a Tiger since the 2013-14 campaign when Jonathan Williams III snuffed five shots vs. Texas A&M, March 5, 2014, and he was the first Tiger to register five-plus blocks three times in the same season since the statistic began being tracked in 1974-75.
  • Ranked third on the team in assists (74); had 20 multi-assist games with a high of six, twice.
  • His 40 made three-pointers ranked third in the team; Mizzou was 7-2 on the year when he drained two or treys in a game.

HIGH SCHOOL:

  • Reclassified from the 2018 recruiting class to join Mizzou’s 2017-18 squad following his standout junior season at Nathan Hale High School (Seattle, Wash.) in 2016-17, helping lead his team to a perfect 29-0 record and the Washington Class 3A State Championship.
  • Averaged a double-double, 14.3 points and 13.6 rebounds, as a junior for head coach Brandon Roy’s Nathan Hale squad.
  • Considered one of the nation’s top juniors before making the early move to the collegiate level, rated as highly as 11th overall in the class by ESPN.
  • Also rated as a Top 25 prospect, nationally, by Rivals.com (12th) and 247Sports (23rd).
  • Helped lead Columbia's Father Tolton Catholic High School to the Missouri Class 3 State Championship as a sophomore in 2015-16.
  • Averaged 11.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, playing alongside current Denver Nugget and brother, Michael Porter, Jr.

PERSONAL:

  • The son of Lisa and Michael Porter, Sr., his father is in his second year as an assistant coach on Cuonzo Martin’s staff, Jontay was born Nov. 15, 1999.
  • Has seven siblings: Bri, Cierra, Michael, Coban, Jevan, Izaak and Jayda.
  • Older sisters Bri and Cierra played for the Mizzou Women's Basketball team, coached by their aunt, Robin Pingeton.
  • Mother, Lisa, played college basketball at Iowa, while his father, Michael, Sr., played collegiately at New Orleans.
