Molly Schneider is in her third year in her second stint with the Mizzou soccer program. Schneider, who was promoted to associate head coach before the 2017 season, spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the Mizzou soccer team in 2007 and 2008. She serves as the Tigers’ goalkeepers’ coach.
Under Schneider’s tutelage, Tiger goalkeepers combined to post a 1.02 goals against average and eight shutouts over the last two seasons. Missouri allowed a program record low 17 goals during the 2015 season, lowering the old mark of 19 set in 2008. Additionally, the 2015 team’s 0.84 goals against average was the second lowest in Tiger history. In Southeastern Conference play, the squad allowed only 10 goals in 11 matches for a 0.87 GAA, both league-leading marks.
Schneider spent the 2007 and 2008 seasons as an assistant with the Tigers and was integral in helping Mizzou earn consecutive NCAA Tournament berths and claim the 2008 Big 12 Conference Tournament. The Tigers posted a combined 29-13-3 record in her two seasons in Columbia, including a school record 16 wins in 2008. During her final year at Mizzou, the posted a program record 0.8 goals against average and notched 12 shutouts. The Tigers allowed just 19 goals in their 23 games.
She came to Mizzou from Sporting KC, where she served as manager of camps and special projects. With Sporting, Schneider directed all camps, including developing curriculums, managing budgets, overseeing marketing efforts and handling all logistics.
Before her time at Sporting KC, Schneider spent five seasons (2009-13) as an assistant at North Florida. With the Ospreys, she helped the program earn its first Atlantic Sun Conference Championship berth in program history in 2010.
She holds a USSF “C” license and an NSCAA level III Goalkeeping Diploma.
Schneider started her collegiate playing career at Milwaukee (2002-03) before spending her last two seasons at Minnesota (2004-05). She claimed All-Horizon League first and freshman team honors at Milwaukee before earning All-Big Ten first team and Soccer Buzz All-Great Lakes Region second team honors at Minnesota in 2005.
A native of Rochester, Minn., she earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science from Minnesota in 2006.
