Kevin Fletcher has directed the athletic department's digital efforts since the spring of 2006. While he assumed administrative control of mutigers.com at that time, his web roots go all the way back to creating the department's first-ever website as an undergrad back in 1995. He also pioneered Mizzou Athletics' presence in social media in 2009, and continues to spearhead the Tigers' Facebook and Twitter accounts. Beginning in 2017, Fletcher returned to his roots, adding women's tennis SID duties to his plate.
A native of Bloomington, Ill., Fletcher is a 1997 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He began his career in the Mizzou Sports Information office as a freshman, and served as the Tigers' volleyball, wrestling and track & field contact as an student. The University of Texas tapped him for an internship position in 1998 after serving as the media coordinator for the Big 12 Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Columbia. While in Austin, he was the media relations contact for the Horns' nationally ranked women's golf, swimming and diving, and softball programs, working with future Olympians Troy Dumais, Nate Dusing and Christa Williams.
His first full-time job came in the University of Denver's media relations office, where he assisted with the school's transition into Division I athletics. While there, Fletcher moved the Pioneers' website to a professional provider, before returning to his alma mater in the fall of 2002 as the women's basketball, baseball, and swimming & diving SID.
An NCAA Championships veteran, Fletcher also volunteered at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, where he worked in the Olympic Village's information office. He also has volunteered at several PGA Tour events.
Fletcher likes to brag that he was Ian Kinsler's SID in his only season at Mizzou, and is pleased to no longer be the last Mizzou women's basketball SID to have been to the NCAA Tournament.
He lives in Columbia with his wife, Carla – a former SID herself – and their three children.
