Marcia Brooks is no stranger to the Missouri women's basketball program. She begins her first season as an assistant after spending two seasons in a similar position at Southeast Missouri State.
Brooks will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Missouri women's basketball program along with her recruiting duties. Her other duties include team scheduling, working with the guards and directing the Mid-America Classic.
Prior to going to Southeast Missouri State, Brooks spent two seasons with the Tigers as a restricted earnings coach.
Brooks was the starting point guard for the Tigers and a two-time letterwinner. She helped guide the Tigers to the Big Eight Championship in 1990 and was named first-team All-Big Eight.
She came to Mizzou from Moberly Junior College. While at Moberly, Brooks earned Kodak Junior College All-American honors after leading the team to a third- and fifth-place finish at the national tournament in 1986 and 1988. She was also named to the Region 16 and national championship all-tournament teams.
The 1991 Missouri graduate earned her bachelor's degree in general studies with emphasis on sociology, social work and parks and recreation.
