1992-93:
MIZZOU: A quick guard with excellent passing skills who should contribute greatly to the Tigers' fastbreak offense. Is versatile and talented enough to challenge for either the starting point or swing guard positions.
TYLER JC: Capped her Tyler Junior College career as a second-team All-America selection. Also named the Region XIV Baden "Player of the Year" and was honored as a first-team NJCAA all-region choice. As a sophomore, led her team to a 26-4 record and a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA tournament. Closed her JUCO career averaging 15.4 points per game and shooting 80 percent from the free throw line. An excellent student, she was tabbed a JUCO Academic All-American as well.
HIGH SCHOOL: Chosen to the first-team all-conference, all-district and all-metro squads three consecutive years. Was also a three-year letterwinner in track. Placed third in the pentathlon at the Arkansas state track and field championships as a junior.
PERSONAL: Majoring in accounting. Enjoys dancing, shopping and all sports. Is a cousin of Utah Jazz star Karl Malone. Prep coach - Jim Eskola. JUCO coach - Charles Mancil. Parents - Ray and Dorothy Turner. Born May 20, 1972.
RUTHERFORD ON TURNER: "Veronica brings a lot of experience with her by coming from a great junior college program last year. She has all of the abilities to play both the point and swing guard positions. Veronica has good speed, quickness, intelligence and the ability to make things happen. She is a steady player who can pass or shoot the ball well. I'm really looking forward to Veronica playing and leading the ball club this season."
