1981-82 (Junior): Led Missouri in scoring the past two years... Moved to fourth place on the Mizzou all-time scoring leader list... Has accumulated 1221 points in three seasons to place her behind leader Sharon Farrah (1820 points), Nancy Rutter (1641) and Julie Maxey (1315) with one season remaining... Only Tiger on the Big Eight all-tournament team in 1982... Also named to the '81 Mid-America Classic all-tournament team... High game last season was 29 points against Illinois State at the Wayland Baptist Invitational... Career high of 33 points came in postseason play against Nebraska at the 1981 AIAW Region 6 tourney... In addition to career scoring, Ferret has moved into the top five in several career categories... she's second in career rebounding with 632 and has the fourth-best rebounding average (6.7)... Stands at fourth in field goals made (520) and third in field goal attempts (1148)... Her 12.9 career scoring average is Mizzou's fourth highest ever... Led the 1981-82 Tigers in scoring 16 times and was the leading rebounder in eight contests... Rebounding high of 17 came in Missouri's first game of the season against Southwest Missouri State.

1980-81 (Sophomore): Has already moved into Missouri's top ten all-time scoring list after just two seasons... Was the team's leading scorer in '80-'81 with 510 total points for a 15.5 average... Had season-high 33 points versus Nebraska in AIAW Region 6 tourney last season... Led the Tigers in scoring 14 times and rebounding 17 times while starting all 33 games... Ferret will move from center to forward, her natural position, this season... High rebounding effort was 14 versus Northwest Missouri St. (Dec. 8, 1980)... averaged 8.1 rebounds per game... Has 710 points in two years with the Tiger program... Worked at various camps over the summer and will dominate the front line as a junior.

1979-80 (Freshman):  Probably the hardest worker on the team... Is looking for more consistency this year... Started to come on strong during nine-game period (Dec. 1-Jan. 8), scoring 12.9 ppg and rebounding 7.6 rpg in that stretch... Suffered concussion on west coast trip which set her back the rest of the year... Finished with 6.9 and 4.8 averages, respectively... High game was 22-point effort versus Kansas State (Dec. 10, 1979)... 12 rebounds versus Northwest Missouri St. (Dec. 7, 1979) was high... Worked at various camps over the summer (including the B/C All-Star Camp, the Old Dominion Camp and Pat Kennedy's Camp) and "all will be amazed with her improvement," Rutherford says... A good shooter, could be a dominant force inside.

Rutherford on Ferret: “Unfortunately, Lorraine has missed some practice due to injuries. She still has the best potential of any player I've coached in a long while. I expect great things from this freshman — she should be a tremendous asset to our club.”

High School:  A highly-sought recruit from Columbus, Ohio, this 6' 1" forward may be the best of the freshman crop... Averaged 27.1 points and 24.5 rebounds at Grove City H.S. Holds prep school records for most points (44) and most rebounds (30)... First athlete in high school's history to win all-state honors... Recruited by over 25 schools, Ferret has great potential at either post or forward... Is one player who could challenge to start immediately, if pre-season injuries don't hamper her progress.

Personal: Majoring in physical education with hopes of getting into athletic training... Born Jan. 13, 1961... Favorite athlete is Julius Erving... Born January 13, 1961... Daughter of Felix and Barbara Ferret... WHY I CAME TO MIZZOU: 1. Coach Rutherford, 2. Like the challenge of being a part of a building program, 3. Good academic tradition.
