1979-80: A pure shooter with outstanding touch, this 5'10" senior is a scoring threat from the baseline at any time. Has scored 917 points in three seasons to become the fourth leading scorer in Tiger history, averaging 9.9 ppg for those three years, and has accounted for 487 rebounds, a 5.2 rpg average. Has appeared in 94 games for Missouri.
Hit career rebounding high by grabbing 17 against Kansas in '77-'78, also scored a career high 30 points against St. Louis U. the same season, and tallied a game-high 22 points in a 66-64 win over Cal. State-Fullerton in the '78 Mid-America Classic, earning a spot on the Classic all-tournament squad.
Started ten games at season's outset last year before suffering a serious groin injury which kept her out of five contests, averaging 14.3 ppg for those games before incurring the injury over Christmas break, and finished the season with 11 double-figure scoring games.
Has improved defensive skills greatly since her freshman year, and will be a major offensive factor for Mizzou in '79-'80, called by coach Rutherford "an excellent shooter from the strong side forward position."

1977-78: Stepping into the lineup as a freshman in college is demanding, but Julie Maxey has handled her playing time with poise. She confidently hit a 15-foot jumper with three seconds left on the clock to defeat CMSU in the AIAW Region Six tournament semi-finals.
Although not a regular starter for the Tigers in 1976–77, Julie still finished fourth on the team in rebounding, at a 5.3 clip. She also averaged 3.8 ppg in 37 games. Julie came into her own at the end of the season, and was the team’s fourth leading scorer in the regional and national tournaments.
Coach Ketterman pointed to Julie’s outstanding baseline shooting ability as her key strength. Coach Rutherford pointed to her ability to move without the ball, and her agility, as the keys to Julie’s game.
Julie was a member of the National Honor Society in high school. She also was named to the All-state basketball team for large schools her senior year in high school. Julie was cited by the St. Louis Post Dispatch as one of the top six scholar-athletes in the Gateway city area in 1976.
