1977-78: This future journalism student has impressed Coach Rutherford. “She is a freshman who has much natural ability and good moves for a guard. Leslie is not afraid to drive, shoot or make things happen on the court. She needs college experience and confidence, but should be a real asset to the team.”
Personal: Leslie was voted the outstanding athlete at Hutchinson Senior High School last year, quite an accomplishment for this member of the Kansas State Championship Basketball team. She was all Ark-Valley Conference 2nd team. She also was the state softball throwing champion for 1977.
