A native of Highland, Kansas, Davis ended her four-year career as the most prolific scorer in Missouri womens basketball history, scoring 2,126 points from 1982-85, on four MU teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The daughter of a high school coach, she was the Big Eight Conference Player of the Year in 1984 and 85 and was the MVP of the Big Eight Tournament three times. As a senior, when Davis averaged 25 points per game, she was an honorable mention all-American, second-team academic all-American, the Big Eight Female Athlete of the Year, and won NCAA and Big Eight postgraduate scholarships. Her number-33 was retired. She later served as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Georgia, while earning a masters degree in physiology. She then picked up another masters in theater at the University of Southern California and worked as an actress and stunt person in Hollywood and in Japan. She earned her third masters degree at Cal State-Long Beach in marriage and family counseling and since has worked as a psychotherapist.
