1978-79: A highly-recruited junior college player two seasons ago, Skimbo enjoyed an impressive first year a t Mizzou...finished as the team's second leading scorer with 383 points for a 12.8 average...also averaged 6.5 rebounds, second best o n the squad...started at center in 25 of Missouri's 30 contests.
Set 1979 one-game Tiger records for most points (35), most rebounds (18), most free throws made (9) and most field goals made (13-for-32) in win over Southeast Louisiana...also entered record books with 9-for-9 free throw performance against Iowa State...scored in double figures 19 times and rebounded in double figures seven times...named to '78 Mid-America Classic all-tournament
squad with teammate Julie Maxey.
Came to Missouri after two stellar seasons a t Eastern Oklahoma J.C... named to juco all-conference team both years there...has good shooting range and aggressive moves to the basket.
One of four seniors, Skimbo is the only Tiger with playing experience at the post and is counted o n to shore up the middle defensively...has become a complete player a t both ends o f the floor. Majoring in physical education...born Jan. 17, 1958.
