Won the javelin at the Battle on the Bayou with a throw of 52.93m (173-08) … won again at the Cougar Classic (52.71m, 172-11) … took first at the Virgina Challenge (52.99m, 175-10) … placed third at the Texas A&M Alumni Muster (49.96m, 163-11) … took second at the SEC Championships with a school-record throw of 58.20m (190-11) … placed fifth at the NCAA Championships, Round One (56.71m, 186-0) to advance to the NCAA finals … won the first national championship in the javelin in program history with a personal-best, and school-record throw of 62.00m (203-5) … was in fifth place until unleashing the winner on her final throw – the fifth-best javelin mark in women’s collegiate history … representing Colombia, won the javelin at the U23 Pan American Games with a throw of 60.16m (197-4) at Estadio de Atletismo in Luque, Paraguay … the victory advanced her to the World Athletics Championships in Japan where she placed 11th with a throw of 59.13m (194-0) as the second youngest competitor in the field.
