Cross Country – Posted a new personal record in the 8000m at the SEC Championships (Oct. 27) with a time of 25:04.8, placing 39^th … Also set a personal record in the 10,000m with a time of 30:21.7 at the NCAA Midwest Regional (Nov. 10), where he finished 65^th.

Indoor Track – In his first meet as a Tiger, the Arkansas Invitational (Jan. 12), placed fourth in the mile run with a time of 4:12.39 … Produced a new personal record in the 3000m run in an effort that resulted in a time of 8:16.16 and an eighth-place finish at the Music City Challenge (Feb. 10) … Finished his season with a 16^th-place finish in the 3000m at the SEC Indoor Championships (Feb. 24) with a time of 8:21.48, which netted him SEC All-Freshman team honors as the top-placing freshman.

Austin was a nine-time Missouri State Champion while attending Lafayette High School … Captured a gold medal in the triathlon at the 2016 ITU Junior Championships … CROSS COUNTRY … Finished third at the state meet in 2014 as a sophomore, second in 2015 as a junior and first in 2016 as a senior … Set the Missouri state record in the 5k at the 2016 Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional, finishing sixth with a time of 15:04.40 … TRACK & FIELD … Won the first two state titles of his career in 2015 as a sophomore at the MSHSAA Class 3-5 State Track & Field Championships, finishing first in the 3200m run and 4x800m relay … Won two state titles as a junior in 2016, repeating in both the 3200m run and 4x800m relay … In a race featuring some of the nation’s best runners, finished second in the 3200m run at the Arcadia Invitational in April 2017, setting the Missouri state record with a time of 8:43.40 … Had a ridiculous senior state track meet at the 2017 MSHSAA Class 3-5 State Track & Field Championships, winning four state titles in the 800m run, 1600m run, 3200m run and 4x800m relay.
