Biography

JUNIOR (2022 Spring)

  • Competed in all six events: four regular season and two post-season.
  • Paced the Tigers with a top-10 finish at the spring opener, the Gator Invitational, after starting and ending the event with under-par rounds of a 67 and 69, respectively. This marked his fourth consecutive event under-par with a career-best 54-hole score of a 3-under 207.
  • Once again matched his career-low round score of a 5-under 67 in the second round of the renowned Hootie at Bulls Bay event to help the Tigers claim their third major team title of the year.
  • Claimed a top-5 finish at the home MU Tiger Invitational event after firing all three rounds of par or better to round out with a 7-under 209 (70-67-72) and finish third on the team as they clinched their fourth major win of the year.
  • His performance at the MU Tiger Invitational marked his 10th round and fifth event under-par for the season.
  • Helped the Tigers to their best SEC Championship finish in program history after shooting a 3-over 213 (71-72-70) on the Par 70 course to claim a share of 34th place overall.
  • Had a standout performance in his first-ever NCAA Regional appearance firing a career-matching-best round score on the second day with a 5-under 67. He led the Tigers and wrapped up his event with an even-par 216 in a tie for 20th place.
  • Led the team in season stroke average with his best season average yet of a 71.26.
  • Rounded out the year setting new personal-best round and event scores as well as racking up 11 rounds and five events under-par.

JUNIOR (2021 Fall)

  • Appeared in the Tigers’ lineup in all five fall events.
  • Racked up five top-20 finishes with three of those being top-10 (T-4, T-6, T-8).
  • Opened the season at the Turning Stone Intercollegiate by carding a 2-over 218, anchored by his 2-under 70 second-round score. Tsai finished tied for 18th place to help contribute to the Tigers victory, taking home the team title.
  • Had a standout performance at the Husky Invitational where we fired a career-low 18-hole round score of a 5-under 67, sandwiched by a pair of even-par 72s to finish T-8 with a 5-under 211. This marked the second time in Tsai’s career that he paced the Tigers in an event.
  • Secured a T-6 finish at the Rich Harvest Farms tournament, marking his career-best place in a multi-team event. His 5-under 211 event score contributed to the Tigers claiming a second place finish out of the 12-team slate, one stroke behind the leader, Purdue.
  • His 5-under 211 event scores at both the Husky Invitational and Rich Harvest Farms tournament tied his career-best 54-hole event score record from his sophomore campaign at the Gator Invitational.
  • Ended the season on a high note, carding the last three events under-par and tallying a total of 10 of 13 rounds of par or better.

SOPHOMORE (2020-21)

  • Started in all nine events in the Tiger lineup.
  • Tallied up 6 rounds and 2 events under-par to end third on the team with a season scoring average of 73.0.
  • Carded his first-round under-par of the season with a 3-under 69 at the Legends Collegiate Invitational where he finished with an even-par 213.
  • Signed off on his career-best round score at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate on the final day with a 4-under 68.
  • Caught fire in the final stretch of the regular season posting back-to-back 1-under-par 215 event scores at the renowned Hootie at Bulls Bay and the Missouri Tiger Invitational.
  • At the Hootie at Bulls Bay, Tsai rebounded from an initial 5-over 77 in the first round to post the final two rounds under-par with a 2-under 70 and a 4-under 68, respectively to claim his first top-20 finish tied at 18th.
  • Showcased consistency at the hosted-event, the Missouri Tiger Invitational, posting a 3-under 69 in the second round to anchor his 1-under 215 event score. This marked his best finish yet at T-14.
  • 2021 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll

FRESHMAN (2019-20)

  • Started in both of Mizzou’s spring events.
  • Recorded career-low 3-under 69 in the opening round of the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate and finished a career-best T-43. 
  • Competed in two events during his freshman fall campaign.
  • Made his first career appearance in the lineup at the Hoakalei CC Invitational.
  • Posted a scoring average of 77.0 in his first season.

PREP CAREER

  • Was ranked No. 75 in the national Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings.
  • Prep career was highlighted by a Top-10 finish at the 2018 IMG Academy Junior World Championship (10th).
  • Added a victory at the CTGA Standard Chartered Bank National Fall Ranking Tournament at the Chang Hwa Golf Club.
  • Finished in the Top-15 in all three of his AJGA starts, including a T-4 finish at the Under Armour/Allison Lee Championship and a T-3 finish at the AJGA Junior at Riverwatch event.
  • Had 17 career top-10 performances on the junior circuit.
