Hernandez made 39 appearances, including 38 starts at catcher, during his junior campaign ... threw out eight would-be base-stealers and fielded at a .991 clip behind the plate for the season ... batted .267 for the season, which included 39 hits, 16 walks and 25 runs batted-in ... turned in a seven-game hit streak, Feb. 27-March 15, over which hit batted .464 (13-for-28) with nine RBIs ... hit .325 (27-for-83) with runners on base and .375 with the bases loaded ... registered multiple hits on 10 occasions, including a stretch of four in a row against Northern Kentucky and Purdue Fort Wayne (March 2-10) ... logged a career-best four-RBI outing against Northern Kentucky (March 2), finishing 6-for-10 with six RBIs in just two games of the series ... led the team with a .360 batting average and five doubles in the month of March ... helped the Tigers post a SEC series sweep of No. 6 Florida (April 5-7), going 5-for-12 with key RBIs in each of the three games ... drove in the game-winning run vs. UF with an 11th-inning single in the opener, propelling the Tigers to a 2-1 victory; followed that by going 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the finale, an 11-10 decision ... also lifted MU to SEC wins over Georgia (April 12) and Auburn (May 10), logging a 2-for-5 effort at the plate in Athens, before producing a career-high three hits (and two RBIs) against AU in Columbia.
PRIOR TO MIZZOU
Junior catcher joins the Tigers after completing two seasons at Seton Hall, where he turned in a career year in 2023, hitting .273 with 44 hits, three homers and 27 RBIs in 46 games ... threw out 14 would-be base-stealers on the season, which was good for third in the Big East ... rated as the toughest player in the conference to strike out, fanning just once every 10.7 at-bats.

Competed for Trenton Catholic Academy, where he lettered for three seasons ... earned all-state honors as a senior ... ranked as the No. 2 catcher and No. 30 overall recruit in the state of New Jersey in the class of 2021 by Perfect Game.
