2018 OUTLOOK
Second-Team All-SEC pick by both the Associated Press and the league’s 14 head coaches after returning to Mizzou for his senior season … Headlined a dominant group of defensive tackles as he led all Mizzou interior defenders with 34 tackles (23 solo) with a team-high 11.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, five QB hurries and a pass deflection … Posted a 1.5 sack game in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl vs. Oklahoma State to close his tremendous career … Had a tackle for loss in eight of Mizzou’s 12 regular season games, including a season-high 2.0 vs. Wyoming (9/8) … That was part of a dominant stretch during which he tallied a TFL in five-straight games … Added 1.5 tackles for loss against No. 16 Kentucky (10/27), including his first sack of the season … Posted a season-high five tackles at No. 1 Alabama (10/13) … Posted four tackles at Tennessee (11/17) … Posted a sack in Mizzou’s win over Vanderbilt (11/10_ … Was a key contributor to Mizzou’s stout run defense which finished the regular season ranked 22nd nationally while allowing just 3.36 yards per carry over the last 19 games as he fully recovered from a pair of ACL tears early in his career.
2017 SEASON
A game-changing run-stopper and pass-rusher in the middle who made a big impact for the Tiger defense in his first fully healthy season ... Had the opportunity to bypass his senior year to enter the NFL Draft a year early, but gave Tiger fans great news over the holiday season when he announced that he would play his final year as a Tiger ... Started all 13 games and had a breakout season after having each of his first two years at MU cut short due to knee injuries ... Posted very productive numbers for an interior lineman, including career-highs in tackles (38), tackles for loss (11.0), sacks (7.0), quarterback pressures (5), and also made a huge highlight-reel interception on the goal line at Vanderbilt that he returned 49 yards that helped seal Mizzou’s bowl-clinching win in November ... Had a big three-game stretch versus Idaho, UConn and Florida that helped served notice he was all the way back physically ... Made a season-best six tackles versus Idaho, with two sacks, and followed the next week at UConn with four stops, 2.5 TFLs with one sack and one pass break up ... Closed the productive stretch against Florida by making five tackles, including 2.0 TFLs with one sack and one quarterback pressure.
2016 SEASON
Had the misfortune of having a second-straight season ended early due to a knee injury ... Injury was to his other knee, and came in game #7 against Middle Tennessee, just as he was beginning to come into his own while getting back from the previous year’s setback ... Prior to the injury, came off the bench as he was working his way back into the feel of the game, and amassed 24 tackles in seven games, including 2.0 TFLs, while adding three QB pressures and recovering one fumble ... Biggest production games came against Georgia (6 tackles) and at LSU (5 tackles).
2015 SEASON
1st-Team Freshman All-American (FWAA, Sporting News) ... 2015 Freshman All-SEC (Coaches) ... Turned in an outstanding rookie season, as he made a huge impact as a true freshman in the trenches for what became one of the nation’s top defensive units ... Started five of his 10 games played for the Tigers, totaling 27 tackles (13 solo), 8.5 tackles-for-loss, three sacks, a pass break-up, a fumble recovery and two QB hurries … Heads-up player who recovered first fumble of his college career against Mississippi State (Nov. 5) … Season-high two tackles-for-loss (-10 yard) at Vanderbilt (Oct. 24) … Recorded a streak of four consecutive games with at least one tackle-for-loss … Ended his 2015 season early after tearing both his ACL and his MCL against BYU (Nov. 14).
HIGH SCHOOL
