| Art Bond was a football and track letterman at Missouri in 1922-23-24 out of Perryville, Missouri. The father of Missouri Governor and U.S. Senator Christopher S. Kit Bond, Art was a star halfback on Tiger football teams that compiled a 14-8-3 record during his career. He was the captain of the 1924 team that won the Missouri Valley Conference championship with a 7-1 record and went on to MUs first post-season game, in Los Angeles, against Southern California. A member of Phi Beta Kappa and a Rhodes Scholar, Bond scored three touchdowns in a 27-0 win over rival Washington University as a sophomore in 1922. |
