2016 SEASON
Recorded ten tackles in Mizzou’s season opener against West Virginia (9/3)… Tallied a total of six tackles in Mizzou’s win over Eastern Michigan (9/10), adding a career-high two pass break-ups … Recorded a total of nine tackles during the SEC opener against Georgia (9/17) ... Posted four tackles (two solo) with his first career interception and two QB hurries vs. Delaware State (9/23) … Nearly returned his interception for a touchdown, but it set up a Mizzou score in the 79-0 win … Tallied a season-high 13 tackles with a half sack at LSU (10/1) … Posted 10 tackles with a tackle for loss at Florida (10/15) ... Recorded one tackle against Middle Tennessee (10/22) before suffering a knee injury that ended his senior season.

2015 SEASON
Had another sensational season, tallying at least 90 tackles for the second consecutive season while earning the team’s Aaron O’Neal St. Louis Player of the Year Award from the team … Finished the season ranked second on the team with 93 tackles (47 solo), a mark that ranked 11th in the SEC and eighth among non-seniors … Added 9.0 tackles-for-loss, one fumble recovery, two QB hurries and three pass break-ups to his ledger … Broke the 10-tackle mark in four games, including a season-high 12 at Georgia with a pass break-up … Had 10 against Arkansas State (Sept. 12), Florida (Oct .10) and vs. Tennessee (Nov. 21) … Had a season-high 3.0 tackles for loss at Arkansas State and posted 2.5 tackles for loss vs. Tennessee … Nearly broke 10 tackles at both Kentucky (Sept. 26) and at home vs. South Carolina (Oct. 3), tallying nine in each of those back-to-back games … Had a fumble recovery to set up the eventual game-winning score against BYU. 

2014 SEASON 
Emerged as one of the Tigers’ top defensive players in his first year as a starter, finishing second on the team in tackles with 114 while tallying 3.5 TFLs, one forced fumble and a pair of fumble recoveries ... Also added a half sack on the year ... Hit his season-high in tackles twice with 13 against Indiana (Sept. 20) and against Kentucky (Nov. 1) ... Also hit double-digit tackles against UCF (Sept. 13) ... Had a pair of QB hurries at Toledo (Sept. 6) ... Forced a fumble in the SEC Championship Game against Alabama (Dec. 6) and had 7 tackles in all during that ballgame ... Had a half sack at Tennessee (Nov. 22) ... Had nine or more tackles in six games ... Had at least five tackles in 12 of 13 games on the year ... Had a career-best eight solo stops against UCF (Sept. 13) ... Posted seven tackles in the Citrus Bowl. 

2013 SEASON 
Played in all 14 games in his first full year for Mizzou ... recorded six tackles (four solo), while also tallying one tackle for loss.

2012 SEASON
Redshirt season.

HIGH SCHOOL
Ranked by both ESPN and Rivals as the No. 8 overall talent in the state of Missouri for 2012 at any position ... ESPN ranked him as the nation’s No. 20 prospect at inside linebacker, while Rivals slotted him as the country’s No. 56-ranked outside linebacker ... won First-Team All-State honors each of his last two seasons, and was named his conference’s Player of the Year in 2011 ... was an Under Armour All-American as a junior when he made 83 tackles and had four sacks and one interception ... also stood out as a powerful running back, running for 1,120 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior ... high school coach - Josh Smith.

PERSONAL
Parents - Joseph & Dori Scherer ... plans to major in business at Mizzou ... chose Mizzou over Stanford, Nebraska, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, Illinois and Iowa, among many others ... says that the team and coaches at Mizzou are like one big family, and that comfort level was a major reason for choosing MU.
