Cross Country - Was the third Tiger to cross the line at the opening dual against Arkansas, finishing 11th overall with a final time of 14:38 on the 4000-meter course...Set a new PR of 18:32.40 for the 5000-meter at the Notre Dame Invitational, shaving off 28-seconds from her previous top mark...At the next race, she set another PR in the 6000-meter run, closingin 21:51 for 33rd at the Bradley Classic...Placed 58th at the SEC Championships and closed her season at the NCAA Midwest Regional, where she took 96th overall.
Indoor Track - Sam's sole meet of the indoor season came at the Missouri Invitational, where she placed 11th in the 3000-meter run with a new PR of 10:48.41.
Outdoor Track - Sam focused primarily on the 5000-meter run during the outdoor season, although she did clock in a 1500-meter run at the Beach Invitational, crossing in 4:44.92...Ran beneath her previous 5000-meter PR twice during the outdoor season, earning a top time of 17:32.45 at the Crimson Tide Invitational...Also ran 17:33.32 at the Bryan Clay Invitational...Closed the season with a fourth-place performance in the 5000-meter run at the Tom Botts Invitational.

Cross Country - Sam started her career as a Tiger at the Iowa State Invitational, where she was the sixth finisher for the black and gold, 17th overall, in 19:22...Earned a PR in the 5000-meter at the following meet, the Greater Louisville Classic, crossing in 19:00.21...Timed in at 22:45 for her first 6000-meter run at the Adadis Wisconsin Invitational...Bested that performance at the SEC Championships in Nashville, Tenn., with a 22:37.67 finish...Ended her season at the NCAA Midwest Regional where she was the sixth finisher for the Tigers.
Indoor Track - Ran at home for both of her meets during the indoor season, starting with the Missouri Invitational where she hit 10:52.59 for the 3000-meter run...Crossed the line in 18:30.58 for the 5000-meter run at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge.
Outdoor Track - Started the season with a 1500-meter/5000-meter double at the Missouri Relays, timing in at 18:11.91 to take eighth in the 5000-meters...Hit a PR in the 5000-meters at the Ole Miss Invitational, where she finished seventh overall in 17:39.89...Ended her season at the Iowa Musco Invitational, where she paced through at 10:14.53 for the 3000-meter run.

Sam competed for Rock Bridge HS under coach Neal Blackburn...CROSS COUNTRY...Was a member of four team qualifiers for the MSHSAA Cross Country Championships, and finished as runner-up in 2011...Sam was captain of the first cross country team in Rock Bridge history to win a district championship, sectional championship, and state trophy in 2011...As an individual, Sam was All-District in cross country all four years (2008-11)..She was a four-time MSHSAA State Championships qualifier (2008-11), and earned two All-State finishes in 2008 (20th) and 2011 (18th)...Competed at the 2010 Nike Cross Midwest Regional...TRACK & FIELD...Sam was All-District in the 4x800-meter relay and 1600-meters (2009-10, 2012), and 3200-meters (2009-12)...Was the District Champion in the 3200-meters (2011)...Qualified for the MSHSAA Championships in the 4x800-meter relay (2010-12), 1600-meters (2009, 2012), and 3200-meters (2009, 2011-12)...Earned All-State honors for the 4x800-meter relay (eighth) and 3200-meters (eighth) in 2012.
