Cross Country - Kayla competed in four races during her opening season with the Tigers...Finished 19th at the Mizzou vs. Arkansas Dual, hitting 14:01 on the 4000m course...Finished consistently in the top ten for the black and gold, including at the Bradley Classic where she was the fifth Tiger across the line in the 6000-meter open race with a PR of 22:51.30.

Parents are Pete and Marty Friesen...Born February 20, 1995 in Chesterfield, Mo...Dad, Pete, is a Mizzou alum and competed in both cross country and track for the Tigers...Sister, Jenna, is a senior marketing major at Mizzou...Kayla was in the top 10% of her graduating class...Served as a Student Council Delegate and was a member of Leaders of Educational and Athletic Discipline (LEAD)...Volunteered with Special Olympics for four years...Was the 2013 Army Reserve Female Athlete of the Year at Parkway Central...Earned the Bright Flight and Curators Scholarships...Was a SHarP Scholar Program recipient...Is studying Physical Therapy/Health Sciences at Mizzou, and hopes to pursue a career as a physical therapist.
