Recent Construction Updates

Week of August 18, 2025

  • Stair core concrete walls are now complete.
  • Steel erection has resumed on the final third of the building along the east side of the north concourse.
  • Concrete has been placed for the Level 1 ticketing space slab on grade, as well as the treads for Stair 1.
  • Upcoming work this weekend includes pours for the Level 3A topping slab, the Northeast Rock M wall and GB-8.
  • Exterior framing continues on both the north and south sides of the project.
  • Interior framing and top-out work are progressing steadily.
  • Level 1 masonry is advancing quickly and is expected to be completed within the next few weeks.

  • PH1 steam tunnel completed and backfilled.
  • Began final tall wall pour on the stair core excavation, with only the tunnel lid left to be completed.
  • Rebar mats began on the north Rock M Club wall, since waterproofing was completed early in the week.
  • Walls on level two started to be topped out.

  • On Monday, August 11, Mizzou Director of Athletics Laird Veatch and Mizzou's Senior Leadership Team visited the construction site to view the progress of the project and visit with members of the construction team.

Week of August 4, 2025

  • Level 1 concrete masonary unit block and plumbing carriers continue to be installed.
  • Overhead mechanical, engineering and plumbing and insulation of piping coordinated closely.
  • Stair 2 is up and running, and Stair 1 is installed and ready for concrete.
  • West tunnel walls are complete, and the last tall wall pour is scheduled.

  • Completed Level 3 Area B steel on metal deck pour.
  • Completed first slab on grade pour in the west concessions and restroom area.
  • Stair 2 has been installed and will receive concrete infill soon, allowing the temporary stairs to be dismantled.
  • Preparing to revise logistics and delivery patterns when students return to campus and classes resume.

Week of July 7, 2025

  • Forming and pouring underground stair core wells will allow construction to continue to the east.
  • Ironworkers have been diligently working to meet CSI at Area C.
  • Digging out of the Rock M Club is nearly complete.

Week of May 26, 2025

  • Asphalt has been placed over the sanitary bore pit in the South End Zone — a major milestone now completed.
  • Steel work in Sequence 3 is now finished.
  • Majority of Level 2 steel installation in Area B (Central area of north concourse) was completed.
  • Ironworkers prepared for the precast stadia installation in Area B, scheduled for this week.
  • K-Line wall footing was poured in Area C (East side of stadium), along with numerous grade beams and pier caps.
  • Excavation for the earth retention system (ERS) continues to deepen — revealing a surprising amount of buried oak timbers.

Week of April 28, 2025

  • Steel erection continued with crews averaging 65–70 pieces installed per day in the North End Zone.
  • The long-awaited structure is now visibly taking shape, marking a major milestone in the project.
  • Hayes Construction is focused on the east stair core and tunnel, installing H-piles, lagging and tie-backs as they dig deeper toward the bottom.
  • The field-level club area progress has been smoother than expected, thanks to earlier rock removal during storm culvert installation.
  • CSI crews have advanced with the construction of footings and walls, shaping the lower levels of the new addition.

  • Crews completed all 98 deep foundations, marking a major milestone in the early phases of construction.
  • Crews also installed the crane road and positioned it for use for this week’s first delivery of steel on site.
  • Concrete Strategies finished all pier caps and footings through Construction Line 17, keeping the momentum strong.

Week of April 7, 2025

  • The large red 200-ton crane was successfully removed from the site, opening up valuable space for continued construction.
  • Deep pier work in Area B (middle portion of construction site) has been completed, while drilling in Area C (east side of construction site) is now approximately 50% finished.
  • Crews are currently backfilling a portion of the access ramp to the field level in preparation for the installation of the final three 30-inch concrete slugs.
  • The east tower crane has been actively supporting construction efforts by delivering rebar and assisting with the installation of the bore and jack machine in the north bore pit.
  • The footing for the west tower crane has been poured, marking another key milestone in the project.
  • Concrete Strategies also contributed to the week's progress by pouring several dozen cubic yards of concrete across the site.

Week of March 31, 2025

  • Our Whiting-Turner construction crews have nearly completed pier caps in Area A, which is the west side of the construction site closer to Providence Road. 
  • The elevator and steam entrance pit are both excavated and currently getting treated with concrete.
  • This week, crews have been building a crane road and started excavation of the east stair core.
  • On the site now, you’ll see a tower crane, a Liebherr 1300 crawler crane and a second foundation for another tower crane that’s due to arrive in July.
