2011-12: Williams split time at 174 and 184 pounds as a redshirt freshman, earning top-six finishes in three of the four Opens he entered. Williams won four matches despite not placing at the UCM Open, including a 20-3 technical fall win in his first match of the tournament. He captured sixth at the Kaufman-Brand Open, winning four times by decision while two of his losses came to teammates Dorian Henderson and Todd Porter. He made his debut at 184 pounds at the Roger Denker Open in January and took fifth with another four-win day, which was highlighted by an 18-5 major decision over UCM's Travis Miller and a 6-4 decision over SIUE's Derick Nagel in the fifth place bout. Williams wrapped up his season by improving on his fifth place finish at the MVC Open, taking fourth at 184 pounds. In his second match, he pinned Mitchell Houghton (Bacone) in 2:21. Overall, Williams posted a 15-9 record in 2011-12 with three wins coming with bonus points.
2010-11: Using his redshirt, Williams won 12 matches and placed in two tournaments on the year. He opened the year with a win by fall in his first match, pinning Slade Madden in 2:35 at the Lindenwood Open. He'd finish 3-2 at that tournament, winning two other matches by decision. He picked up two more victories at the UCM Open, including a 20-3 technical fall to open the tournament. At the Roger Denker Open in January, Williams won his first open title, going 3-0 at 184 pounds, including a win by fall in 1:01 over Jon Arnold of Neosho County Community College. A few weeks later, Williams placed fourth at the MVC Open following a 3-2 day. All three of his victories came by major decision.
High School: Dustin wrestled for the Cardinals of Benton High School, where he finished in the top-six at state in each of his four seasons. He capped off his impressive career with a perfect 54-0 senior season, where he took first in state. His overall career record was an astounding 171-19. During his sophomore season he placed fifth in Greco and eighth in freestyle at Nationals.
Personal: Dustin Williams was born to Jimmy and LaDena Williams on March 8, 1992 in St. Joseph, Mo. His father Jimmy is a firefighter. He has a younger sister, Lindsay, who is 15.
