CAREER HONORS
- 2015 Academic All-MAC Team
REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2015-16)
- Went 16-8 on the season with five falls, four technical falls (tied third-most) and two major decisions wrestling at 133 and 141 pounds.
- Was awarded the “Total Person Program Excellence” Award at end-of-the-year banquet following his success in the classroom.
- Earned three top-five finishes in five open tournaments.
- In only dual start, defeated Brandon Lapi (Buffalo) by decision, 3-0 (Jan. 8).
- Placed second at 141 pounds at the Roger Denker Open (Jan. 24) after a 3-1 performance. Earned back-to-back technical falls in first and second rounds of the tournament over Brady Franklin (Wentworth JC) and Rio Zamora (Central Oklahoma).
- Took third at the UNI Open (Dec. 12), earning two falls and a major decision in the third-place finish at 141 pounds.
- Finished fifth at the Joe Parisi Open (Nov. 21), posting two falls and two technical falls in the tournament.
REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2014-15)
- Accumulated a 22-13 overall record, including his first career dual start on Feb. 6, 2015.
- In his dual start at Buffalo, pinned Colt Cotton in 2:06.
- Competed in seven tournaments, placing in four of those (4th - Cyclone Open, 4th - UCM Open, 3rd - Kaufman Brand Open, 5th - UNI Open).
- His four tournament trophies ranked T-2nd most on the team.
- Finished the season with 11 falls, making him one of only six Tigers to gain double digit pins for the season.
- The 11 pins were responsible for exactly half of his season victories, and his fastest fall came in just 0:54 (vs. Kenneth Cowan - Navy - Edinboro Open).
- His 22 season wins marked a new single season career high, upping his total from 16 a year ago.
REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2013-14)
- Competed in five tournaments at 133 pounds.
- Took seventh at the Warren Williams/Daktronics Open.
- Finished in fifth place at the Joe Parisi Open on Nov. 23.
- Took second at the Kaufman-Brand Open.
- Took sixth at the UNI Open, picking up decision wins against Kyle Larson (Iowa State) and Garth Yenter (Michigan State).
- Finished second at the Roger Denker Open.
- Overall season record was 16-9 with four wins coming by fall.
FRESHMAN (2012-13)
- Redshirted during his freshman year.
- Competed in five tournaments at 141 pounds.
- Finished in fourth place at the UCM Open, picking up his first collegiate win against Garrett Matthews (Benedictine) by fall at :45. Had two more pins on the day, plus one major decision win.
- Landed in fifth place at the Kaufman-Brand Open.
- Finished in third place at the Roger Denker Open.
- Had a season record of 20-10 with five wins by pin and one by technical fall.
- 2012-13 SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll
JEFFERSON CITY HIGH SCHOOL (JEFFERSON CITY, MO)
- Finished second at state his sophomore and senior seasons, at 103 pounds and 126 pounds, respectively.
- Finished with a career record of 182-25, 100 of which came by fall.
- His senior year, the Jays finished fourth as a team at state.
- Lettered all four years in wrestling, as well as lettering all four years in soccer.
- Was a two-time All-State soccer athlete.
- Two-time Academic All-American, finishing second in his graduating class.

- Cole Baumgartner was born to Danny and Kim Baumgartner on May 11, 1993, in Jefferson City, Mo.
- He has one older sibling, Danielle, and a younger sibling, Jayme.
- Chose Mizzou over Duke University.
