FRESHMAN (2014-15)

Redshirted during his first year in Columbia, Mo.
Overall, racked up an impressive 16-6 overall record, including two MD, one TF, and one Fall.
Competed in four tournaments at 141 pounds, placing in three of those (fourth at Harold Nichols Cyclone Open, fourth at UCM Open, and first at Joe Parisi Open).
Captured his first career event championship at 2014 Joe Parisi Open, going a perfect 5-0 at the tournament.
First collegiate win came against Oscar Ramirez (Iowa Western) with 6-0 decision.
In a two tournament span, tallied a season best seven match winning streak (Nov. 22 at Joe Parisi Open & Dec. 13 at UNI Open).
His 16 wins for the 2014-15 campaign ranked fourth highest among Mizzou wrestling true freshman.

ROCK BRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL (COLUMBIA, MO)

Missouri state champion at 132 pounds his sophomore year.
Finished in second place at state at 125 pounds, 138 pounds and 145 pounds his freshman, junior and senior years, respectively.
Took sixth place at the Cadet Freestyle Tournament in 2011.
Earned a letter in wrestling all four years of high school.
Was a member of the Rock Bridge HS Honor Roll.

PERSONAL

Sam was born to Rex and Lisa Crane on May 9, 1995, in Columbia, Mo.
Has two older siblings - Taylor, who wrestled at Mizzou as well, and Katherine, who played soccer at Central Methodist.
Named the No. 84 overall recruit in the country going into the 2014-2015 season.
