  • NCAA Qualifier (No. 17 seed, 184 pounds)
  • Big 12 Wrestler of the Week (Feb. 15-22)
  • Matched his career best mark with 19 wins in his second season as Missouri’s starter at 184 pounds
  • Recorded four-straight bonus-point victories to open the season, winning by major decision, technical fall and back-to-back two falls
  • Named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week following a 10-7 upset against No. 7 Marcus Coleman (ISU) in Mizzou’s regular season finale, Feb. 16
  • Advanced to the Big 12 Championship final as No. 6 seed through upsets of No. 2 seed Coleman by 10-7 decision and No. 3 seed Tate Samuelson (WYO) by 6-2 dec.
  • Recorded second-fastest fall at NCAA Championships, March 17-19, pinning No. 32 seed Colin McCracken (KENT) in 42 seconds
  • Recorded two wins at the national tournament in back-to-back seasons

REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2020-21)

  • 2021 NCAA Qualifier (No. 9 seed) at 184 pounds
  • Fantastic 2021 debut at North Dakota State Triangular (Jan. 3), tallying unblemished 3-0 record with two bonus point victories
  • Entered the postseason with a perfect 7-0 record, including a ranked win over No. 19, Wyoming’s Tate Samuelson, Jan. 8
  • Won two close bouts at the MAC Championships (Feb. 26-27) before losing by fall for first loss of the season
  • Advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament (March 18-20) after winning his first bout by fall (2:15) against Ohio State’s Rocky Jordan
  • Finished his first NCAA tournament with a 2-2 record, winning by fall in first consolation bout

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2019-20)

  • Went 19-7 during his redshirt freshman season, wrestling primarily at 174 pounds
  • Took over as the starter at 174 pounds midway through December, and posted a 7-5 dual record with a 4-3 mark in MAC contests
  • Held the starting role at 174 through Jan. 25
  • Opened the season 14-2 with 10 bonus-point wins before the turn of the calendar year
  • Struggled to find consistency down the stretch, going 5-5 in 2020, but still showed tremendous progress as a wrestler and figures to be one of the Tigers’ key wrestlers moving forward
  • Of his 19 wins, 13 came via bonus-point decisions, including five falls, five technical falls and three major decisions
  • His five technical falls on the year were the most among Tigers who started multiple duals
  • Took home top honors at 174 pounds during the Lindenwood Open, Nov. 23
  • Also earned first place at the Cougar Clash, Dec. 7

REDSHIRT SEASON (2018-19)

  • Finished his season at a strong 16-5 record with four of his wins via fall, three via technical fall and five via major decision
  • Captured a first-place finish in the Iowa State Harold Nichols Cyclone Open, Nov. 3, with three victories over Cyclone wrestlers, concluding with a 7-3 decision over Logan Schumacher
  • Brought home a fourth-place finish in the Maryville Kaufman/ Brand/ Bayly Open, Nov. 10, after falling to Carver James out of Illinois in the third-place match
  • Dec. 8, returned to action in the UNI Open, where he placed yet again, this time earning second place honors
  • Kent concluded his season with a first-place finish at the Jan. 20 Roger Denker Open, Kan. 20, joining five other Tigers that brought home top honors

BEFORE MIZZOU

  • Ranked No. 11 at 170 pounds by FloWrestling and No. 97 overall by Intermat
  • A graduate of Hickman High School, Kent committed to Mizzou over Nebraska and Arizona State, choosing to stay in his hometown of Columbia. Former Mizzou wrestler and Olympic Bronze Medalist J’den Cox also graduated from Hickman High School
  • Finished first in the 2018 Class 4 Missouri State Championships at 170 pounds
  • Earned All-American finishes in both freestyle (fifth) and Greco-Roman (seventh) at the 2017 Junior Freestyle Nationals
