100 Days to Kickoff: Mizzou Football Countdown Begins Toward Centennial Season at Memorial Stadium

Tigers to celebrate Memorial Stadium’s 100th anniversary during Sept. 19 home game vs. Troy.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Tuesday marks 100 days until the start of the 2026 Mizzou football season and a historic new chapter for Mizzou Athletics as the Tigers prepare to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium and unveil the transformational new north end zone as part of the Memorial Stadium Centennial Project.
The 2026 season will commemorate 100 years of Memorial Stadium, one of college football's most iconic venues and the home of Mizzou's program since 1926. The season also marks the official opening of the new $250 million north end zone expansion and renovation, the centerpiece of the Memorial Stadium Centennial Project. The Memorial Stadium Centennial Project also includes improvements in other areas of the stadium, including the east and west concourses, as Mizzou continues to reshape the fan and game-day experience in Columbia.
As part of the season-long celebration, the Tigers' Week 3 home game against Troy on Saturday, Sept. 19 will be designated as the official 100th Anniversary Game honoring Memorial Stadium's centennial milestone.
Additional details surrounding the 100th Anniversary Game, including special recognitions, commemorative moments and fan activations, will be announced later this summer. In celebration of the stadium's centennial season, Mizzou Athletics will also unveil new commemorative memorabilia items and exclusive merchandise collections over the coming months honoring the history, tradition and legacy of Memorial Stadium and Mizzou Football.
The Tigers open the 2026 season on Thursday, Sept. 3 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the annual "Kickoff in CoMo" game at Memorial Stadium. The 7 p.m. contest will air nationally on SEC Network and marks the Tigers' fifth consecutive Thursday night season opener.
