Tennis Drops Match to No. 1 Georgia

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Tennis came up short to No. 1 Georgia 4-0 in a tough match on Sunday, March 8, at the Country Club of Missouri.

In doubles, senior Andrea Artimedi and sophomore Korina Roso fought against the No. 8-ranked doubles pair, falling 6-1. Sophomore Zoe Lazar and freshman Lara Quaglia were down 5-1 when their match went unfinished on court two. The third doubles match resulted in a default win for Georgia.

Moving onto singles, Quaglia fell 6-1, 6-0 on court four and Roso was defeated 6-2, 6-2 on court one, sealing the match for the Bulldogs. Georgia also received a default point due to a singles match withdrawal.

The three remaining matches were left unfinished, as the Black and Gold put up a strong competition against their opponents. Sophomore Gian Octa and Lazar both forced their respective first sets to tiebreakers, but both went in favor of Georgia. Artimedi was down 6-4, 5-2 in a tough battle when her match ended.
