
Trent Pierce Named to SEC Community Service Team

Junior Trent Pierce of the Mizzou men's basketball team was honored for his work off the court on Thursday as he was named to the SEC Community Service Team.
Pierce has led the Tigers' community service efforts during his time at Mizzou. Among the organizations he has volunteered and worked with in Columbia include Boys & Girls Club, Adopt-a-Family, The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri, University of Missouri Children's Hospital and Veteran's Hospital.
The team captain has also volunteered with a number of campus and clinics in Columbia and worked with children, including at Columbia Public Schools and Blue Ridge Elementary School.
Pierce is also a member of the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and represented Mizzou at the SEC Basketball Leadership Council this past summer.
On the court, Pierce is averaging 10.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from 3-point range.
Pierce and the Tigers return to action on Saturday, hosting No. 20 Arkansas for an 11 a.m. tipoff on ESPN.
