
Abby Carr Named SEC Freshman of the Week

This is Abby Carr’s second weekly honor, as she was named the Softball America Freshman Star of the Week on March 24.
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou softball RHP/DP Abby Carr (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette HS) was named as the SEC Freshman of the week for the week of March 23-29, the Southeastern Conference announced on Tuesday, March 31.
The award is the second-career weekly honor for the freshman, who was named Softball America Freshman Star of the Week on March 24. This is the Tigers' first weekly conference honor this season.
Carr produced on both sides of the plate in the 4-0 weekend, as she helped lead the Tigers to an SEC series sweep over Auburn: first conference sweep since the end of the 2024 season. At the plate, she posted a .500 batting average with four RBIs and one home run, and on the mound, she pitched 3.1 innings and finished her weekend with two saves.
Her most impactful moment of the week was a go-ahead two-run home run in the fifth inning of Game Three against Auburn to confirm the sweep. In total, she went 5-9 against the Auburn Tigers, producing a 1.111 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage, as she recorded two doubles, making her extra-base tally three.
