Senior Virgilio Paz moved up 21 spots on the leaderboard in the final round of the Colleton River Collegiate on Monday to lead the Mizzou men's golf team.
Paz led Mizzou in scoring for the second-straight tournament to open the spring campaign, posting his second top-15 finish of the season with a one-under tally over three rounds. Paz tied for fifth in the third round on Monday, recording five birdies against just two bogeys for a three-under 69. Overall, Paz finished at -1 (74-72-69) to place 15th in the 92-player field.
"It was a great final round by Virgilio today," said Mizzou head coach Glen Millican. "We also had solid play from Trent, Brock and Veikka this event. There are still areas we have to improve to get into contention but the guys are getting closer and will be there soon."
Junior Veikka Viskari finished 33rd overall at +2 over the 54 holes of play (67-74-77). Sophomore Trent Mierl followed at +5 (73-74-74), while Brock Snyder finished at +6 (75-73-74).
