
WIN for Columbia to Host 29th Annual WIN Awards Breakfast

Six Tigers nominated for awards; NCAA Senior VP Lynda Tealer to deliver keynote remarks.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Women's Intersport Network (WIN) for Columbia will hold its 29th annual WIN Awards Breakfast on Tuesday, February 10, at the Wyndham Executive Center, where six representatives from Mizzou Athletics are nominees for individual awards. Lynda Tealer, former deputy athletics director at the University of Florida and current NCAA Senior Vice President of Championships, will serve as the event's keynote speaker, which will last from 7:30 to 9 a.m. with the breakfast buffet available at 7:15 am.
Each year, WIN for Columbia awards female athletes who reside in or represent a Columbia-based team for their excellence in their respective sport and involvement within the community. The awards breakfast will take place as part of the organization's National Girls & Women in Sports Day celebration.
Mizzou's nominees are as follows:
- Collegiate Sportswoman of the Year: Gymnastics' Jocelyn Moore; Track and Field's Valentina Barrios
- Female Coach of the Year: Gymnastics Associate Head Coach Whitney Snowden
- Female Mentor of the Year: Associate Director of Academic Services Jessica Buser; Cross Country/Track and Field Assistant Coach Paige Duca
- Mrs. Ann Walton Kroenke Leadership Award: Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Operating Officer Marcy Girton
Other awards will recognize female Youth Athlete of the Year, High School Sportswoman of the Year, Gladys Stankowski Sportswoman of the Year, as well as a female Inspiration Award recipient. For the third year the Mrs. Ann Walton Kroenke Leadership Award will be presented, established to recognize an individual who demonstrates outstanding leadership in sport and has a positive impact on others and the community around her. Award recipients are nominated by members of the public and selected as finalists by the WIN Board of Directors, with final voting by WIN members to identify a winner in each award category.
Before this year's awards recipients are announced, guests will get a chance to hear from Tealer, a 30-plus year sports industry veteran, who joined the NCAA in May of 2024 after spending 29 years in college athletics administration. Most recently, she worked for 21 years at Florida, where she served as deputy athletics director and oversaw the university's women's programs plus men's basketball. Before Florida, Tealer was the associate commissioner of the Southland Conference from 2000-03 and an assistant athletics director at Santa Clara from 1995-2000.
Tealer has served in several leadership positions in the NCAA governance structure, including as chair of the Division I Council and as a member of the Division I Board of Directors and NCAA Board of Governors. She served on the council's Competition Oversight Committee, NIL Working Group and Council Coordination Committee. A former college basketball player, Tealer received her bachelor's degree in business administration at San Diego. She earned her law degree from Texas.
