
No. 7 Gymnastics Beats No. 2 Florida, Earns Highest-Ranked Win in History

The Tigers’ 49.525 on floor marked their highest rotation score of the season.
No. 7 Mizzou gymnastics earned the highest-ranked win in program history, defeating No. 2 Florida, 197.200–196.500, on Friday night's alumni meet at Mizzou Arena in front of a crowd of 2,976.
The Tigers (5-3, 1-3 SEC) posted a season-high 49.525 on floor exercise and outscored the Gators (6-1, 3-1 SEC) on uneven bars, 49.250–48.475.
SHOWSTOPPERS
Five Tigers combined to earn event titles across three events.
Addison Lawrence (Olathe, Kan.) scored her fifth 9.950 of the year on beam to secure a share of the title. Maiya Terry (Coeur D'Alene, Idaho) claimed a share of the uneven bars crown after posting a career-best 9.900. On floor exercise, Ayla Acevedo (Virginia Beach, Va.), Kaia Tanskanen (Howell, Mich.) and Kennedy Griffin (Strongsville, Ohio) shared the event title with scores of 9.925.
Tanskanen competed in the all-around for the first time in her career, totaling 39.400.
"It's always special when we have our alumni here. we had almost 50 back, or maybe more," said head coach Shannon Welker. "That's cool in itself and really impressive. And then to go out and be able to get a nice win for them and perform really well, that always makes it more special."

VAULT
-Griffin and Railey Jackson (Park Forest, Ill.) both tallied a score of 9.800 to open the meet.
-Going third, sophomore Kaia Tanskanen (Howell, Mich.) recorded a career-best 9.875 on vault.
-Missouri totaled 49.150 in the opening rotation and led Florida, 49.150–48.475, heading into the second event.
BARS
-Olivia Kelly (Bronx, N.Y.) went second for the Tigers and matched a season-high score of 9.850.
-Tanskanen made her first appearance of the season on the uneven bars, recording a score of 9.825.
-In just her third collegiate routine, freshman Terry tallied a career-best 9.900.
-Missouri's bars rotation totaled 49.250, marking the third consecutive meet the Tigers have reached or exceeded the score.
BEAM
-Amy Wier (St. Louis, Mo.) and Lauren Macpherson (Gilbert, Ariz.) recorded consecutive 9.800s to open the rotation.
-Kelly tied her personal-best 9.900 on the apparatus for the seventh time in her career.
-Lawrence anchored the rotation and tied her season-best score of 9.950.
-Missouri totaled 49.275 in its third rotation.
FLOOR
-The Tigers' 49.525 on floor marked their highest score of any rotation on the year.
-Acevedo and Tanskanen recorded consecutive career-high scores of 9.925.
-Kimarra Echols (Henderson, Nev.) followed with 9.875, also a career-best.
-Griffin earned her fourth 9.925 of the season from the fifth position in the lineup.
