The Tigers close out the three-day event at Texas A&M University.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Mizzou track and field's junior Drew Rogers and freshman Monica Wanjiku starred for the Tigers on the final day of the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships at Fasken Indoor Track & Field on the campus of Texas A&M University.
Rogers, who was the 3000m champion a year ago, won the mile run in 4:02.42, edging out Florida's Oussama Allaoui (4:02.80) and South Carolina's Jaouad Khchina (4:02.99) at the tape. He's Mizzou's first conference mile champion since Martin Prodanov won the SEC crown in the mile in 2020. Rogers was 11th in the 3000m.
Wanjiku, who was 5th in the 5000m on Thursday, followed that up with a fifth-place finish in the 3000m today, running the second fastest time in Missouri history – 8:59.03.
