
Distance Squad Leads Second Day of SEC Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Swimming and diving finished their second day of competition at the 2026 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships in Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
The men's and women's distance squads competed in the 1,650 free finals. Zoe Schneider earned the highest mark for Mizzou with a 14th place finish in 16:25.39. The junior was closely followed personal bests from Peyton Drexler in 18th (16:32.96) and Danielle Gleason in 20th (16:35.38). Conner Boatright led the mile for the men's squad with a 26th place finish in 15:27.07.
Megan Jolly highlighted Mizzou's diving with a 14th place finish in women's 3-meter diving. The sophomore scored 260.05 in the consolation final. Gabriela San Juan Carmona followed in 19th with a score of 260.10 and Mia Henninger in 25th with 245.80.
Relays hit the pool for the first time this competition. Both men's and women's 200 medley relays finished 8th in the conference. The men's squad of Quinlan Gould, Logan Ottke, Luke Nebrich and Francois Malherbe raced a time of 1:23.27 coming under the NCAA qualifying standard. Sydney Bales, Zara Zallen, Kylee Sullivan and Francesca Smith swam their relay in 1:36.38.
The Tigers also competed in the 800 free relays. Zallen, Libby Bakker, Piper McNeil and Smith touched the wall in 7:11.57 to finish 10th in the women's relay. On the men's side, Oliver Milan de Miguel, Malherbe, Brady Johnson and Griffin Craig swam a 6:22.69 to come in 11th.
