Mizzou men’s basketball fell to Saint Louis in its second contest of the 2026-27 season, 90-84, in the Regions Bank Show Me Showdown. The Tigers are now 1-1 on the year, while the Billikens improve to 2-0.

MIZZOU LEADERS
Sophomore Bryson Tiller led the Tigers with a career-high 26 points to go along with nine rebounds. Tiller also knocked down a career-best five triples, shooting 63% from behind the arc. Fifth year Mark Mitchell followed with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting.

Sophomore Jamier Jones notched his third career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 50% from the field.

Freshman Jason Crowe Jr. led Mizzou with seven assists to go along with eight points. Senior Kennard Davis Jr. added nine points to round out the Tigers’ top scorers.

GAME RECAP
Mizzou’s freshmen opened the contest the same way they closed Monday’s game. A Toni Bryant block led to a pull-up jumper from Crowe Jr., giving the Tigers an early 3-0 lead. However, the Billikens got hot from deep and used an 18-4 run to pull in front by double digits 18-7.

As the first half approached the midway point, Tiller knocked down a corner three to make it 22-15. Tiller tallied eight points within the first 10 minutes to pace Mizzou offensively. Just a couple minutes later, Jones threw down a thunderous slam to cut the deficit to one, 24-23.

Tiller continued his hot start in his second game in the Black & Gold, knocking down a jumper as time expired to cap off a first half that included three triples. The sophomore led Mizzou with 16 first-half points as the Tigers trailed 49-38 at the break.

Mark Mitchell opened the second half with the first four points, highlighted by a two-handed slam, as the Tigers quickly chipped away at the Billikens' lead. The senior scored eight points in the first five minutes of the period as Mizzou cut the deficit to 58-50.

Saint Louis would answer back though and pushed the lead to as many as 14 points before the Tigers made one final push. Trailing by 12, 78-66, Mizzou used a 12-5 spurt to cut the deficit down to five, 83-78, with just under three minutes remaining. The Tigers forced a turnover on the defensive end, but saw a layup attempt from close range rim out. Given a second chance to extend their lead, the Billikens did just that on the next possession before holding on for the 90-84 victory.
