
Three Tigers Named to D1Softball’s Freshman Watch List

Abby Carr, Sidney Forrester and Addy Waits earned recognition as a part of the D1Softball Freshman Watch List
Mizzou softball athletes' Abby Carr (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette HS), Sidney Forrester (Miami, Okla./Miami HS) and Addy Waits (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit West HS) were named to the D100 Softball Freshman Watch List, the organization announced Monday, Jan. 5.
Carr, a 6-0 right-handed pitcher, was selected to her first career preseason list.
The Wildwood, Missouri native, was the 2025 Gatorade Missouri Softball Player of the Year after posting a 23-0 record with 304 strikeouts and a .242 ERA across 144.2 innings.
Carr is a two-time pitcher of the year winner and was a three-time all-state selection in Missouri. She is also a four-time academic all-state honoree.
She completed her high school career with a 55-15 record and ranked as high as the No. 27 player in the Class of 2025, according to Perfect Game.
Carr competed with the Select Fastpitch club out of Kansas City, Missouri, where she doubled as a threat at the plate with a .420 batting average. In the circle, she recorded 136 strikeouts over 106.2 innings with a 2.69 ERA.
Forrester, a 5-11 first baseman and outfielder, was selected to her first career preseason list.
The Miami, Oklahoma native, was a three-time Oklahoma Class 4A-7 District Player of the Year and earned all-region, all-state accolades as a senior.
In 2024, she was given Prep Nation Slugger Top 4A Offensive Hitter honors, after hitting .707 (.825 on-base percentage and 1.793 slugging percentage) with 16 homers, 13 doubles, 40 RBIs, 41 hits, 49 runs and 26 walks.
Forrester wrapped up her high school career with a batting average of .545 (.633 on-base percentage) with 180 hits and 159 RBIs; she also recorded 46 home runs, 47 doubles, seven triples, and 28 stolen bases.
She competed with the Aces Fastpitch 18U club team based in Kansas City. With the Aces, she broke the single-season record for home runs for the organization with 28. She also batted .446 (.984 slugging percentage) with 83 hits and 81 RBIs.
Waits, a 5-5 third baseman, was selected to her first career preseason list.
The Kansas City, Missouri native, was a three-time all-conference, all-state and all-district player.
Over the course of her high school career, Waits set the Lee's Summit West High School career records in hits (180), on-base percentage (.563), doubles (42), walks (70), stolen bases (49) and runs (157). She ended her four-year stint with the Titans batting .470.
She wrapped up her senior season with a .504 batting average (.604 on-base percentage, .903 slugging percentage), racking up 17 doubles, eight home runs, 45 RBIs and 47 runs. In the Class of 2025, she ranked as the No. 41 player in the recruiting class, according to Line Drive Media.
Waits joined her counterparts as she also competed with Aces Fastpitch in Kansas City.
