
Tennis Secures Home Opener Win Over SEMO

Mizzou women's tennis kicked off home play with a 6-1 victory over the Southeast Missouri State RedHawks on Saturday, January 31st, at Green Tennis Center.
The Tigers opened the match by securing the doubles point. Doubles began featuring an impressive start to the day from senior Andrea Artimedi and graduate student Mary Brumfield who finished first, defeating their opponents, 6-0. Sophomores Zoe Lazar and Korina Roso battled to the finish, securing a win in tiebreakers, 7-6, to win the doubles point.
Five different tigers saw victories during their singles matches. Lazar was first to finish, dominating her match 6-1, 6-2. Artimedi followed, winning her match 7-5, 6-0. Brumfield finished third winning 6-4, 6-4, clinching the victory for the Tigers.
Roso followed suit and sealed her match 6-0, 6-1. Sophmore Gian Octo finished the night with another singles win, 6-1, 6-2.
UP NEXT
The Tigers continue their homestead with a doubleheader next weekend against Saint Louis and SIUE on Saturday, Feb. 7.
