
Swim and Dive hosts Southern Illinois for Senior Day Saturday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri swimming and diving will host Southern Illinois for their final dual meet of the season on Saturday (Jan. 31) at Mizzou Aquatic Center.
The Tigers will celebrate their 2026 graduating class consisting of eight seniors. The senior day ceremony will start at 9:45 a.m. before competition begins at 10 a.m.
The squads are coming off a road trip to Kentucky (Jan. 10) where the women came away with a win over the Wildcats 180-120. The MU men fell in a closely contested dual, 168.5-131.5.
Admission is free and open to the public. With live results available via Meet Mobile and DiveMeets. Additionally, the meet will be streamed via SEC Network+.
AGAINST SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
- The MU men trail the Salukis 23-21 all time, while the Missouri women bring a 24-12 series lead into Saturday's meet.
- The Tigers last faced the Salukis on Nov. 3, 2023, at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.
- Mizzou's men won 171.5-107.5 while the women came away with a 188-108 win.
LAST TIME OUT: KENTUCKY
- The women's 50 free podium was swept by Francesca Smith in first at 22.79 followed by Katie Kuehn in second (23.25) and Haiden Schoessel in third (23.30).
- Zara Zallen secured gold in both the women's 200 and 100 free races. She finished in 1:47.03 in the 200 and 48.90 in the 100.
- Oliver Millán de Miguel picked up his first win as a Tiger in the men's 200 free. The Spain native, took first with a time of 1:37.15.
- Maeve DeYoung and Kylee Sullivan took the top two finishes in the women's 200 fly with DeYoung in first at 1:59.75 and Sullivan in second with 2:00.30.
- Jan Zubik earned a first-place finish in the men's 200 fly with a 1:43.11 swim and was followed by Matthew Judkins in second at 1:44.65.
- The Tiger women swept the podium in the 100 fly finishing with Paige Striley in first (53.92), Sullivan in second (54.06) and Annabelle Wentzel in third (55.10). Zubik and Judkins repeated their finishes in the men's 100 fly with times of 47.04 and 47.30, respectively.
- Tommaso Zannella secured first in men's 3-meter diving with a 353.03 performance while Tanner Braunton won men's 1-meter diving putting up 348.38.
- Gabriela San Juan Carmona topped the women's 3-meter podium with a score of 343.65.
- Mizzou won both 100 back events against Kentucky. Libby Bakker secured gold on the women's side with a time of 53.67 while Quinlan Gould won in 46.41 for the men.
- Karolina Bank picked up a pair of wins in both women's breaststroke events. The senior won the 100 breast in 1:00.14 and the 200 breast in 2:11.86.
- Matthew Mortenson secured a win in the men's 200 breast with a time of 1:58.61.
UP NEXT
The Tigers head to Knoxville, Tennessee to compete in the 2026 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships, February 16-21. Prelims will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by finals at 5:30 p.m., each day.
